As we gather to celebrate Thanksgiving and the official welcoming of Fall (at least in my books), I wanted to take a moment to extend my warmest wishes to all of our great patients for a wonderful Thanksgiving. It’s a time to reflect on the blessings of the past year, spend quality moments with family and friends, and enjoy the simple pleasures that make this time of year special.
Thanksgiving brings with it so many things to look forward to. The aroma of a delicious meal wafting through the house, the excitement of sharing a festive feast, and the joy of reconnecting with loved ones are just a few of the highlights. Whether you're hosting or visiting, there’s something truly heartwarming about coming together to share a meal and express gratitude.
For many (like me), it’s also a time to indulge in some of our favourite comfort foods. From the classic turkey and stuffing to a slice of pumpkin pie, there’s something incredibly satisfying about enjoying these seasonal treats. My plate usually consists of a large mound of mashed potatoes, some mixed white & dark meat turkey, stuffing, and a plethora of seasonal veggies with gravy poured generously across everything. This is a time to think of the joy that food and traditions can bring into our lives.
Don't forget to schedule some time for yourself over the holidays as well. With Christmas and year-end around the corner, take some time to reset and prepare for a great ending to the year. Another good scheduling tip is a run, bike, or walk to try work off some of the holiday overidulgence.
As you celebrate this special occasion, I hope you find moments of peace, joy, and reflection. May your day be filled with laughter, good food, and cherished memories. Here’s to a Thanksgiving that’s as fulfilling and delightful as the holiday itself!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
